Fiera Milano is working on organizing MIBA Levante in Bari, a spin-off of the major international event MIBA – Milan International Building Alliance, dedicated to technologies, materials, and solutions for the design, construction, and redevelopment of buildings and cities, as well as the ecological and digital transition of the built environment.
The announcement was made during the presentation of MIBA 2025, which will take place from 19 to 21 November next year at Fiera Milano (Rho).
The event brings together four specialized trade shows held concurrently and synergistically:
-
GEE – Global Elevator Exhibition, the exhibition for vertical and horizontal mobility;
-
MADE Expo, the leading event for the building and construction sector (which will run for one extra day and end on 22 November);
-
Smart Building Expo, the trade show for technological integration in urban and building design (which already has a spin-off in Bari with Smart Building Levante); and
-
Sicurezza, Italy’s key event for the security and fire prevention sectors.
The first edition of MIBA Levante, which will bring to Southern Italy the same offering as its Milan counterpart, is scheduled for November 2026 at Fiera del Levante in Bari. It will alternate with the Milan edition, held in odd-numbered years.
“The built environment and all the related sectors — from safety technologies to systems and internal mobility — must tackle the challenge of urban regeneration. This is also a major business opportunity, as over 70% of market value is linked to maintenance activities,” said Simona Greco, Exhibition Director at Fiera Milano. “MIBA in Milan next year will shine a spotlight on this scenario, both nationally and internationally. The initiative in Bari will act as a bridge between the two MIBA editions, while also offering a valuable opportunity for professional development and dialogue for companies and experts from Southern Italy — especially Apulia — as well as neighboring Mediterranean countries. It’s a concrete sign of our intention to engage with a territory that is highly sensitive to these development issues.”
“After the success of three editions of Smart Building Levante in Bari, this evolution — which we’ve been working on for about a year — was the natural next step,” said Luca Baldin, Project Manager of Smart Building Expo and Director of Smart Building Levante. “The Milan-based project is designed to provide Italy with a benchmark trade show of European stature for the entire industrial and professional supply chain involved in the digital and energy transition of the country’s building stock from now through 2050 and beyond. This transition clearly involves electrification and digitalization, but it must also be closely connected with those working on the building envelope and its safety. That simple idea led to the creation of MIBA in 2023, and it only made sense to bring the same approach to Bari, where — after this year’s success — we aim to make a major qualitative leap in 2026 thanks to our alliance with Fiera Milano.”
On the occasion of the presentation of MIBA 2025 in Milan and the announcement of MIBA Levante 2026 in Bari, Fiera Milano also officially launched a structured partnership with Politecnico di Milano, specifically with the Department of Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering. The goal is to create a Permanent Observatory to monitor the market and map out scenarios and trends based on scientific data, helping companies and professionals make better-informed decisions.
This is a highly valuable collaboration, as today’s top-tier trade fairs are increasingly recognized as essential tools within their respective supply chains and as platforms that reflect and represent their industrial sectors.
