Midsummer is a Swedish company specializing in the development and manufacturing of flexible thin-film photovoltaic modules based on CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium Selenide) technology. For more than twenty years, we have been committed to making solar energy accessible even in applications where conventional photovoltaic systems face limitations related to weight, installation, or architectural integration.
Our strategy is not to replace conventional photovoltaic technologies, but to complement them by providing a dedicated solution for lightweight industrial roofs, waterproof membranes, existing buildings, and all those applications where traditional solar modules are not the optimal choice. Sustainability is an integral part of our identity: our modules are manufactured through a European supply chain and feature one of the lowest carbon footprints in the industry.
After strengthening its position in the Swedish market and successfully expanding its commercial activities in Thailand and Colombia, Midsummer now sees Italy as one of the key strategic markets for its European growth. The production facility in Modugno represents a major investment in this direction, serving both the Italian market and supporting the company’s expansion across Europe.
This is why we are participating in Smart Building Levante 2026. CIGS photovoltaic technology is still relatively unknown in Italy, and we believe it is essential to raise awareness among designers, installers, general contractors, and building professionals. The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to showcase the value of our technology, establish new partnerships, and contribute to the evolution of the market towards increasingly innovative and sustainable energy solutions.
